Time of Your Life

Kyle Onstott

Dec 2019

Today I want to talk about an extremely important topic. The thing I’m going to discuss is limited and one of the most valuable pieces of life.

We all have it, we all waste it, we all want more of it, & we can’t get it back once we’ve used it.

Can you guess what “it” is?

TIME .... The single most important & valuable asset to life.

There are only 24 hours of time in a day. 168 hours of time in a week. 672 hours of time in a month. 8,064 hours of time in a year. & don’t forget, none of it is promised. Time is essentially a limited time offer.

Lost time, wasted time, & unused time all.... we all fall victim of it. That’s why it’s imperative for us to practice & improve in our time management. With the continued development of technology we have so many different distractions pulling us in different directions, we MUST learn to better manage our time & remove distractions from our daily lives. It’s not easy, but it’ll be worth it.

We’ve all heard the famous quotes:

“Time is Money”

“Time waits for no one”

Time is single handedly the thing we take for granted most. Why is that? Tomorrow is not promised but we often act as it is. Between the way we work, talk to our family, & the actions we take we find ourselves saying “I can do it tomorrow” or “I’ll make up with my mother/father next week” or even the infamous “I have plenty of time to get that project done.”

The truth is we don’t have plenty of time. We have an extremely limited amount of time. So my question to you is what are you doing with your time and who are you giving it to?

It’s important you don’t have the mindset of “spending” time, but rather “investing” time.

We invest time on things that are important to us. So let me ask you...

Are you investing your time in a positive environment with encouraging people? Are you investing your time in hard work & giving it your all? Are you investing your time in mending broken relationships? Are you investing your time outside of typical work hours to grow your business?

If you answers yes to any of these then you are most likely on the right track. If not then you have a big opportunity to start investing your time more wisely.

We are blessed with the limited time we do have here on earth, so it’s important to use it wisely & efficiently. I firmly believe God created us for a few reasons, that is to study, learn, grow, love & develop. If we are doing anything less than we are not living to our fullest potential.

Time is more valuable than money. You could have all the money in the world, but you can’t buy time.

So... today... & everyday- cling tight to the valuable time God has given you. Use it to grow & develop.

Today I challenge you to use your time investing in things that are positive & reinforcing. Study a book or a course that will help you grow, Mend your broken relationships, Spend time with your loved ones, & Do something that makes you happy & brings you joy. Life is short, tomorrow is not promised, so live to the fullest today and every day you are given.

Action steps

set goals & create a road map to keep you on track to utilize your time accordingly. keep record of your day & how you spend your time. At the end of the night self reflection on how you can better manage your time. Use your most productive hours of the day to tackle your biggest tasks. Invest your time on who & what matters most to you. Have the courage to say NO. (Remember, your time is valuable) Delegate as much as possible Last but not least & just as important, remember to take time for yourself.

“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” Harvey Mackay
